People in the society are very particular about their behavior towards others around them, irrespective of whether they know them or not. Moreover the power of making decisions that has been bestowed upon us makes us the most superior of “Social Animals”. But do we really deserve this tag?? Are we good enough to be called as “Social Animals”?? Ask yourself…
You won’t get an answer unless you get to know why this question has been put forward. Our behavior towards other humans is favorable, but isn’t it the instinct of any other animal. It’s so natural just as we love our parents, kin, children etc, so does any animal. What marks us out from other animals is our behavior towards other species and our intelligence.
In recent times this is getting out of culture. We are becoming selfish day by day and our moral values are disappearing at the rate of “nauts”. To prove this to you here is a real life example of which i was a live witness.
A small and cute puppy was playing around in the front yard while i was busy scribbling matter for my website. It was around 6:00 pm, when all of a sudden a child came howling with tears in his eyes. He was not able to say anything properly just pointing towards the road and was saying puppy, puppy. I ran out, only to discover the cute puppy flat on the road with blood spilling all over its skull. “A mind numbing scenario”. It was hit by a motor-bike a while ago as he was crossing the road. There were very few people out of which most were small children all terrorized by what they had just witnessed.
The elder people standing there were just conversing about how cute the puppy was and no would be able to save him. But none of them had the slightest of courtesy of wrapping him in a piece of cloth and taking him to a veterinary doctor. By the time, i reached there, it was already too late. Now you ask yourself “Would this have been the same if instead of a puppy and small human baby would have been hit?? “ The answer is absolutely NOT. In that case the person on the bike would have been thrashed thoroughly, the baby would have reached the hospital and the doctors would have made all possible attempts to help him recover and the law would have also punished the bike rider. Only because it was a puppy it was allowed to die! Questions coming in the mind would be :- What is the need to save a puppy? What will change if it is gone? “Un Human”
The answer to these rubbish questions would be revealed when you love an animal and see how much it loves you back. If you understand what is the meaning of love, then next time if you see anything like this please, please try and save it. That animal also might be some body’s sibling or parent.
I appeal to you, to justify our tag as “Social Animals” because we are really capable to doing so.
